4 more sleeps

This morning Jerry showed me 4 (FOUR) fingers on his hand. That's how many sleeps until we leave for NZ!!! We are actually starting to feel a wee bit excited now. Jerry's mom seems to have plateaued and her prognosis has improved, and on Monday the doctor felt she should be put on a waiting list for the Grace Hospital hospice, as she doesn't really need to be in a hospital. So, she phoned me IMMEDIATELY, and told me she wanted us to start packing right away, and leave on Feb 1. This has eased our minds somewhat, and so we are going!!! Only 4 more sleeps, only 4 more sleeps, only 4 more sleeps......oh dear, and so much to do!!! I sure hope the thermometer will read like this on Sunday morning when we leave!!

preparation

Well, this morning we decided to start packing and preparing as if we will actually be leaving for NZ on Feb 1. Today, that is how we feel. Tomorrow...., well, tomorrow we may feel we need to stay here for Jer's mom. Today we feel we need to go visit our kids in NZ, and have a family reunion (of sorts-Marliese is staying home). Jer's mom is sick, dying of cancer, and doesn't have a lot of days left. So we are very torn - between our parent and our children. We still have a week before the plane leaves, and are praying that things will work out as they should. A great lesson in patience and trusting God! I almost got excited this afternoon as stuff was being spread over the bed and floor, and we were organizing and checking the list and checking it twice! I think Andrew will think it's Christmas when we get there!!
